Ahlul Bayt News Agency - ABNA - The old American Islamic College in Chicago is reopening its doors for a conference this week and revamped classes after some major renovations.
The school near Lake Michigan was founded in 1981 and has gone through several administrative changes.
It's not an accredited school, so students don't get college credit.
Over the years, classes have been offered sporadically and facilities have been used by graduate and theological students through other schools.
The school is run by the Organization of the Islamic Conference, the world's largest organization of Islamic countries.
The facility has a dorm and newly remodeled 1,000-seat hall. Classes start in two weeks and about 50 students are enrolled.
The grand opening is Wednesday.
